Cafes and Waiters

For over 200 years the cafe has been a Paris institution. It is here where people begin their day with a coffee or an espresso and end the day with a glass of wine or cognac. Spirited conversations and often sharp debates are so common that Honere de Balzac called the cafe the “peoples’ parliament.” The accompanying photographs are from three of my favorite cafes: A Petit Fer a Cheval in the Marais and Cafe de Flore and cafe Les Deux Magots on Boulevard Saint Germain where I spend a lot of time and too much money.
